Session: The AI Arms Race: How Today's CISOs Are Using Machine Intelligence to Out-Think the Adversary
The threat landscape has fundamentally changed. Adversaries are no longer waiting for vulnerabilities to be discovered they are deploying artificial intelligence to find them, exploit them, and weaponize them at machine speed. The question is no longer whether AI will be used against your organization. It already is. The only question is whether your defense is smarter.
In this high-impact session, CDTO, CISO, and AI strategist Mary Kotch draws on two decades of frontline technology leadership from architecting AI-native cyber programs at scale to deploying real-time dark web intelligence pipelines to map the new frontline of enterprise cybersecurity. This is not a theoretical framework. These are production systems, built and battle-tested in regulated environments where failure is not an option.
Attendees will learn how predictive AI models go beyond detection to anticipate attack vectors before they materialize, how behavioral analytics and machine learning can identify adversarial patterns weeks before a breach attempt reaches the perimeter, and how today's most forward-thinking security leaders are building AI defenses that satisfy compliance requirements without sacrificing speed or operational agility.
Drawing on hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, Darktrace, OpenAI, LLaMA, and live dark web intelligence programs, Mary will walk through the architecture of an AI-first security posture and show exactly what it takes for a CISO to lead that transformation at the executive level.
This session is for technology leaders who are done reacting and ready to get ahead.
Bio
I am Mary Kotch, a senior technology and cybersecurity executive with 20+ years of enterprise leadership across healthcare, financial services, insurance, and global reinsurance. I currently serve in three concurrent roles:
• Advisor as Chief Digital Trust Officer (CDTO) & CISO – Clover Health, where I am building an AWS Bedrock-native AI cyber analytics architecture and leading OmegaBlack, a live dark web threat intelligence and SIU/cybersecurity convergence program.
• Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity & AI – Penn State University, where I have taught since 1995.
Prior to my current roles, I served as AIG's first female CTO for the Americas and CIO for Latin America, as EVP & Global CIO at Validus Holdings (global reinsurance), and as VP of Technology at MetLife — where I first applied AI through IBM Watson in 2007. I have worked hands-on with AI platforms including OpenAI, Darktrace, LLaMA, Microsoft Sentinel, and Amazon Bedrock throughout my career.
I was recently a featured guest on Dr. Eric Cole's "Life of a CISO" podcast, and I was named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful U.S. Women in Technology. My work has been featured in Impaakt Magazine (October 2025 cover story) and the CIO Talk Network.
